The Ecoefficiency Group partnered with the Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) and The University of Southern Queensland to produce the first water stewardship guidelines for the red meat processing industry. This guide uses the globally acknowledged water stewardship principles and approaches to develop a collaborative approach for processor and community to jointly address shared challenges around water quality and security.
This Introductory Water Stewardship Guideline provides a six-step method for how to effectively engage with stakeholders to take collective action to tackle shared water challenges.
While the guideline was focused on the red meat processors and their communities, it can be applied to other industries.
The guide can be accessed on the AMPC website.
